New Blog Alert!

So I have decided to start a new blog called Modestly Be(you)tiful and its mostly geared towards women but I think young people and men may find it interesting and engaging also.  Men are definitely encouraged to visit my blog even though a lot of the posts will be directed towards women.  I think it will give men some good insight into the lives of women and also through my posts God may show you something.  I think its also a chance for me to reach those who maybe have not yet heard the Gospel before even though this blog does that I think my new blog will target a new group of people and give them a chance to partake in conversation and read about things that they may relate to especially from woman to woman.  We all go through a lot of the same things but sometimes there isn’t a place for you to go to or person you can go to and talk to about things that may be happening in your life and God has given me this idea to just reach out to those who may be in need of encouragement and need to be poured into.

I post on my blog every Monday, Tuesday and Friday and each day has a different theme. Modest Beauty Mondays are geared towards women.  I will touch on things that many Christian women may be dealing with or uplifting things that are meant to lead women back to the Gospel and encourage them.  Table Talk Tuesdays are for current news and random topics that I feel like addressing that deal with things pertaining to the faith.  I don’t have a name for Fridays yet but it will come to me.  Let me know if you have any ideas for that.  I think Fridays will be for interviews that I might have conducted, a featured poet of the week, or maybe just some testimonies I have heard and want to share.  So please check out the new blog and I want it to be very interactive so comment and follow and lets talk ladies (and gents).  So please CLICK HERE to visit my new blog Modestly Be(You)tiful.

Side note to LADIES ONLY : Write me and let me know what you would like me to write about. What things are pressing to you as a women that you would like to have a discussion about with your fellow sisters in Christ. Comment below and let me know.

Grace and peace everyone.

31 Status Women

To the average women today they are on this “independent” status.  But what about being on that 31 status? The status that Christian women try hard to uphold.  There is no comparison to this woman; virtuous, kind, wise and her worth is far more than any diamonds rubies or pearls. Strength and honor are her clothing and she gives to those who are poor and to those who are in need. This woman takes care of her husband and her children and they honor her. Her husband trusts her with his heart and she does him no evil. Most of all she is God fearing(Proverbs 31:10-31) .  Every women should know their worth and I feel that starts with accepting who you are.  We were made along with men because God did not want man to be alone.  We serve a purpose we are not

here  just because God thought it would be cool for men to have a playmate.  But God had a better plan.  We are more than what men now a days plan to use us for.  We are not sex objects or some guy’s weekend mistress.  we are meant for much more.  The first man we should ever fall in love with is God and second our husbands.  We do not have to be married and for those who aren’t it is not a crisis.  Maybe God wants you to focus on being a better you.  He has greater plans for you and after all God is a jealous God and he provides for us in every single aspect of our lives and that includes love.  So why then do some of us feel that we have to gain so much (unwanted) attention from men.  I once heard a line out of a song by Lecrae that says “her self esteem is as low as her neck line”.   First of all too many young ladies today lack confidence.  He provides you with all the confidence you need and a if a man can’t look beyond your body to decide whether or not he wants to be with you then he is not worth your time or attention.  Now there are plenty of other things that a Proverbs 31 woman deals with aside from a man.  We should not be too focused on our outward appearance or anyone else’s for that matter.  A lot of us wear makeup and spend a lot of time on our hair and some women spend way too much time in the gym trying to make sure she doesn’t gain an ounce because she has to maintain a beach body all year around.  Some women even go through with plastic surgery to permanently get rid of flaws because they don’t want to live with the fact that no once is perfect.  Some girls fool people with a pretty face but her attitude and personality sucks.  Now, I’m not saying don’t do your makeup and don’t do your hair and don’t work out or anything like that but what I am saying is that our outward appearance is not our number priority nor should it be our main focus.  Jesus is the most important thing in a Proverbs 31 woman’s life.  Is makeup, hair, looks, finding men, or anything else that we consume ourselves with more  important than our lord and savior? I think not.  Just look at what he has done for us.  His father crushed him! He died on a cross for our sins and how do we repay him?  By staring at ourselves in the mirror and worrying about what we are going to wear to impress the person and that person and basically just thinking about ourselves. How can we be so vain? Especially when we know that this man put himself out of the picture when he saved our lives.  We should be praying and fasting and living according to our heavenly father’s word with Jesus as our prime example.  A proverbs 31 woman lives her life with such virtue and love.  She is not a woman of the world but a women of God.  She speaks ill of no one, slow to anger and she is always willing to give. She is unashamed and not easily deceived by anyone.  She respects her family, friends and herself.  A Proverbs 31 woman should know her worth and should always be modest.  I believe that every women who is struggling to uphold this status must meditate on the word of God and must trust in the lord and give her troubles to God to make sure she keeps her dignity and her head to the heavens.   Scripture of the day:  Proverbs 31: 30-31

30  Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.
